I got my start in art because my childhood home was always filled with creativity—art and music were just part of daily life. My mother was a huge inspiration; she was an engaged artist whose passion showed up everywhere: at home, at church, and in the community. We even have a few famous artists in the family lineage.
I've always kept up with my fine arts, which led to a few exhibitions —like the watercolours I donated for a church fundraiser and some pieces I offered for sale at the Mind and Matter Gallery in South Surrey (2018). But raising two adopted children while working full-time meant I had to put painting on hold for a few years. Now, though, I'm back at it with a ton of energy! Moving to the historic community of Bath, Ontario, has totally reignited my passion for colour and canvas.
